Interview with Bernd Cramer at the exhibition "Border Experiences. People on the Oder and Neisse....

| Kulturhistorisches Museum...

Städtische Museen Zittau

On Sunday, August 27, 2023, there will be the last opportunity to visit the special exhibition "Grenzerfahrungen Menschen an Oder und Neiße. Photographs by Bernd Cramer". Starting at 3 p.m., the photographer will be present in person, and there will be an opportunity to talk about the exhibition in a relaxed setting. You are warmly invited to join us.

The Leipzig photographer Bernd Cramer has been traveling along the rivers Oder and Neisse for over ten years to talk to people and take their portraits. The special exhibition in the Heffterbau shows numerous photographs from Cramer's documentary work with accompanying interviews. They illustrate the transformation of the border region, which is caught between tradition and transformation. The biographies of the inhabitants reflect this in a very individual way. Bernd Cramer captures their voices, dreams and longings, history and experiences and records them in pictures and text.

Bernd Cramer was born in Leipzig in 1970 and studied photography at the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts from 1991 to 1998, graduating with a degree in photography. Since 1998 he has been working as a freelance photographer. Bernd Cramer lives and works in Leipzig.

A photo book has been published to accompany the exhibition:

Bernd Cramer "Border Experiences. People on the Oder and Neisse", 176 pages, 85 photographs, price: 19,80€.

ISBN: 978-3-00-074980-3
