The Ensemble Esprit presents four groundbreaking woodwind quintets, starting with a quintet by Anton Reicha, who brought this musical genre to life in Paris. The Mannheim composer Franz Danzi led it to its classical-early romantic peak with his quintets. Paul Hindemith's "Small Chamber Music" is considered the root of the modern concept of chamber music, while Samuel Barber's "Summer Music" anticipates the first blossoming dreams of this early spring.
