Three for Silver is a kind of avant-garde band from Portland (Oregon) that is very difficult to categorize into a genre. Their music is a mixture of folk, blues, country, American folk and klezmer. The band was formed around the charismatic bassist Lucas Warford, whose voice is reminiscent of Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits, and who gives the band's sound a wild and raw character.

... interspersed with the angelic voice of accordionist Willy Sertain. Their music is also aptly described as "Doom Folk Devil Swing" or "Mythic Americana".

Their concerts are completely unpredictable. It can easily happen that Roma songs or Balkan hits slip in, you feel like you're listening to Radiohead, and the next moment you're standing in a medieval pub. Almost everything inspires these sound magicians and flows into their repertoire. Warford even had a very special banjo built for this purpose, which he now and then plays more like percussion. The only thing that can be said with certainty is that you have probably never heard a band like this before.
