BRITANNIA THEATRE
Just as Phoenix, Arizona will one day rise from the ashes to rebuild, the East German band “Britannia Theater” appeared again in 2018 after a 20-year break. Founded in 1992 in a coal cellar on Lottumstrasse, they played until '98 over a hundred concerts in six different countries; smoked up their lopsided suits, drank diesel and hit the sack. Their three out-of-print albums are in good hands or are on well-stocked shelves next to neighbors like Gallon Drunk or Arcade Fire. After 30 years and two deaths - in addition to the usual men's table setting, still with trombone, cello and accordion -; They crack the damned nut of melancholy live and leave you with joy of life at the end of the concert.
