The exhibition of original jewellery reGeneration6 is a meeting of jewellers and goldsmiths from the Turnov region with guests. In the past, we have gradually approached artists from all major enclaves of Czech contemporary jewellery. Now we would like to introduce foreign guests for the first time in Turnov, this time from Slovakia. This new, attractive series of "reGenerations" will be launched by the work of Prof. Karol Weisslechner, the long-time head of the S+M+L_XL - KOV A ŠPERK studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, together with the Slovak colleagues he has invited to Turnov. The museum's Jewellery Room will thus present the current form of Slovak jewellery represented by several generations of artists. In particular, in addition to Weisslechner's work, there will also be examples of the work of Blanka and Matúš Cepek, Jana and Peter Machat, Sonia Kabáňová, Mária Hriešik Nepšinská and Karin Šusteková, who, as a recent graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts, embodies the youngest hopes of Slovak studio jewellery. The jewellery creations of renowned foreign guests will be confronted with their latest jewellery by traditional goldsmiths and jewellery masters from Turnov and the surrounding area. Also here, despite the limited exhibition space of the Jewellery Hall, we have tried to invite new faces of the local jewellery community to join our proven collaborators in order to facilitate new encounters and inspirational suggestions. The sixth edition of the reGeneration will be launched on Thursday 14 December, together with a reprise of the comprehensive and refined show of contemporary Czech jewellery that was presented under the curatorial direction of Julia Bergmann in the first half of this year at the Ilias Lalaounis Jewellery Museum in Athens. The jewellery makers' festival in the Turnov Museum will be twice as big this year, and we look forward to meeting you there.
