Turnov Municipal Theatre. 250 CZK Senior admission: 200 CZK Zdeněk Maryška comes from Mariánské Lázně, where he still likes to return to this day. He had his acting baptism after graduating from high school in the Alfa Theatre in Plzeň, and then began studying acting in Brno at the JAMU. In the meantime, he was a guest on the stage of the Slovácké Theatre in Uherské Hradiště, and after graduating he spent one season at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Pilsen, and for the next ten years he connected his life with Brno and its theatres. He first appeared in front of a film camera in the series Slovácko sa nesúdí. At the beginning of the 1980s he emigrated to the USA, where he initially worked as a waiter in a hotel, but later he worked as an editor and broadcaster for Svobodna Evropa, and eventually he made a name for himself as an actor. In 1995, he returned to the Czech Republic, whereupon he got a role in the TV series Detective Martin Tomsa. He considers his main role to be the character of Lukášek in Herz's absurdist parable Passage, and he continues to appear in TV fairy tales and series, most recently in a small but significant role as a German guest in I Served the King of England. As far as theatre is concerned, he is a guest actor at Divadlo Na Fidlovačce and at the Drama Club. His most important roles on stage include Sophocles, The Rain Merchant and The Taming of the Shrew. Zdeněk Maryška's work in dubbing is also significant.

A chat with the Czech film dubber and actor. The evening will be hosted by Petr Vydra. Musical accompaniment by Andy Seidl and Pavel Půta.
