In January 2023, 30 years will have passed since the founding of the Czech Republic. Since then, the orchestra has borne the name Philharmonic Hradec Králové, reflecting the historical continuity stretching from the Sokol Philharmonic in Hradec Králové (1921-65) to the Philharmonic Unit active in the city since 1887. The top-class ensemble performs on the stages of the major concert halls in Europe. The quality of the orchestra's performance is documented by CD recordings for domestic and foreign companies and for the Czech Radio. FHK performs at major festivals and has a long history of blending musical genres and crossover concerts.
