An exhibition about the form of funeral rituals in the Pojizeří region across the centuries. The core of the exhibition, created by our museum colleagues at the Museum of Bohemian Paradise in Turnov, will be supplemented by a section dedicated to burial in our region. The collective of authors has chosen funeral rituals from time immemorial to the recent past as the central theme. Lovers of prehistoric, medieval, baroque and modern history will find it interesting. They will get acquainted with findings from the fields of archaeology, history, ethnology and folklore. An important part of the exhibition will also depict traditional village burials. The death of a person in all times brought with it various mechanisms, thanks to which society, family, friends coped with the departure of a close person, and which provided the deceased individual with a transition from the world of the living to the world of the dead. The exhibition depicts their development in an illustrative, informative, but not morbid way.
