Kateřina Hrušková's lecture will introduce a unique American museum dedicated to glass in all its possible forms. In the middle of New York State, on the route to Niagara Falls, there is a museum where every Czech can experience a sense of true national pride. Glass plays a major role in its exhibitions, so it's no surprise that many of the exhibits come straight from the heart of Europe or were created by local natives. The Corning Museum of Glass is considered the largest glass museum in the world. In addition to exhibits and galleries with unique exhibits, it also offers visitors the opportunity to witness the creation of glass works every day, experience glassmaking, and learn about the many properties and uses of this unique material.
