Solar Corona originally hail from the northern Portuguese city of Barcelos, where they were loosely associated with the stoner rock scene that had sprung up around the coast's SonicBlast festival. Founded in 2013, they achieved a stable formation in 2016 and established themselves as a quartet. After releasing three EPs between 2013 and 2016, Solar Corona released "Lightning One", an LP that summarized the result of years of hard work in search of the sound. A new album was released in 2022, on which the saxophone is now omitted and Nuno Loureiro will be heard on the synthesizers/dub/fx.
