Reading stage Hospitalstraße steps out

The penultimate edition of the Hospitalstraße reading stage will not take place on March 25 at 7.30 p.m. as usual in the Apollo, but in Benigna on the Görlitzer Untermarkt. For the first time, the plans for the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater and the reading stage were not compatible. "We look forward to stepping out on our audience," says the founder of the reading stage, Axel Krüger. As usual, he will present exquisite works on the Benigna theater stage with his regular author colleague Mike Altmann.

Special place, special guests: The long-awaited reunion with Jens-Uwe Sommerschuh takes place. Born in Nordhäuser (hicks), he is known as a columnist and music critic for the Sächsische Zeitung, for which he has been writing since 1992. Sommerschuh has also published numerous novels (including Carcassonne, Mimi and most recently Coyote). At what is now his third reading stage appearance in Görlitz, there is something outrageous about Vivaldi the cat, who was able to speak long before the Berlin kangaroo. Plus incomprehensible things from Aunt Elfriede and unpublished things from Rome.

Musically there will be a premiere: "Der Libero" will appear for the first time. This is the new project of the Görlitz musician Michael Erblich. In contrast to his band Play, the quiet tones are in the foreground. Piano. beats Singing. The Libero tells stories from life. In football, the last man is no longer common. In Erblich's project he celebrates a resurrection and breaks with musical patterns. The last season of Hospitalstrasse is the beginning of the libero. How nice.
