And that's exactly what happened to Alex's mother, an enthusiastic supporter of socialism. When she wakes up eight months later, Alex faces a big problem. Her heart is so weak that the slightest shock could kill her. And what could shock Alex's mother more than the fall of the Berlin Wall and the final victory of capitalism in her beloved East Germany? To save her, Alex will turn their shared apartment into an island of the past, a kind of museum of the socialist era, where his bedridden mother will enjoy blissful ignorance and live in the belief that nothing has changed.
