The festival will open with Madeleine Gavin's Escape from Utopia, which follows refugees attempting to escape one of the most oppressed places on the planet - North Korea - and a pastor helping to organise escapes from a neighbouring country.
The film program will also offer 6 more documentaries.
In a humorous global home essay, director Marta Kovářová will embark on a journey to save the planet with her father, scientist Jiří Svoboda. In the documentary Jiří's Vision, they travel together to international summits and try to understand each other.
When the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan in 2021, foreign correspondent Ibrahim Nas'at managed to convince its leadership to film. In Base Hollywoodgate, the camera follows men in the radical movement's leadership as they try to establish a military dictatorship in the country, deliberately teetering on the line between journalism and propaganda;
The small town of Marinka in the Donetsk region has seen almost all of its 10,000 residents forced to leave due to intense artillery shelling. The town, which has been under constant attack by pro-Russian separatists since 2014, became the epicentre of an escalating conflict in the spring of 2022. The protagonist of White Angel, police officer Vasyl, risks his life along with his colleagues to save as many civilians as possible from the battlefield. Their courageous mission, captured by the camera on Vasyl's helmet, shows the evacuation of the inhabitants, the first aid to the wounded and the painful farewell;
The documentary Venezuela: Land of Lost Children reveals the reality of Venezuela, a country facing a deep social and economic crisis. The stories of abandoned children living in extreme poverty and neglect reveal the tragic consequences of the political and economic collapse of this Latin American country.
Singer Ella belongs to the Sámi people, the indigenous people of northern Europe. When the Norwegian government issues a permit for copper mining in the area where Ella comes from, she decides to take action. Rahchan - Ella Rebels is a story about the struggle to save her home. At Schous plass in Oslo, we find the most popular table tennis tables in Norway. Weather permitting, there is always a group of people who gather here to play and make new friends. However, due to the fact that some participants have a liberal attitude towards alcohol and illegal substances, the city is threatening to remove the table tennis tables. Ping Pong Family is a humanistic documentary about community, fellowship and table tennis.
In addition to the One World film program, visitors and attendees can enjoy a debate program with guest speakers, short films for children, art installations and exhibitions, and a concert by Rozalia Havelka.

The story of a family on the run from North Korea, Vasil rescuing people from the frontline or Ella defending her home from a mining company. The One World Festival will offer seven documentaries about pressing global issues and the struggle for human rights from 8 to 12 April in Liberec's Varšava cinema.
