For Europe and the Czech Republic in particular, there are two interrelated issues. The first asks what we know about Russia and its hatred of the West. And the second is simpler: Do we want to be a Russian colony again? These two questions should be at the forefront of any debate about international relations and what we can do as Central Europeans to keep the peace. For never in history has peace been a foregone conclusion.
