Digitisation and visualisation in geology and archaeology

| North Bohemian Museum Liberec

In recent years, a unique set of 3D scanning methodologies have been developed, tested and put into practice (thanks to the exemplary collaboration of surveyors, geophysicists, historians, archaeologists and 3D graphics specialists), which allow any object of interest to be digitised. Thus, there is probably virtually no object in the world that cannot be accurately documented metrically and transferred to the digital world. All 3 stages of the 3D documentation project will be presented to interested parties, i.e. data collection in the field, processing methods and forms of subsequent presentation of digital models and their use (virtual museum, reverse engineering, etc.). There will be examples of good practice, i.e. projects successfully completed in recent years.

During the presentation, various methods will be presented that enable the creation of digital copies of various objects. We will show how to scan things of microscopic size, but also entire cities.
