Kuba is forty years old and has an intellectual disability. He has no access to the world of "our" affairs and truths, while we have no access to the world of "his" experiences and ideas. Cuba's entanglement in "normal" life is not only a nod to great literature, but also - or rather, above all - a powerful metaphor. Today we especially need the feeling of community - of spiritual and ideological community. "The migration crisis, the increasingly populist and nationalist attitudes and the publicly shown xenophobic behavior, which is widely commented on in the media, undoubtedly reverberates in the consciousness of some Europeans," write the creators of the performance based on Malina Prześluga's text DEBIL. The need to counteract these tendencies by promoting a sense of community, tolerance of diversity and equal opportunities of individuals and society is an obvious challenge for all sides. The stage creates a safe space filled with music and becomes a figure in its own right in the story - the result of the collision between the hermetic universe of Cuba and the pop culture world created by the creators of the production.

The premiere of the play took place as part of the 43rd PPA Nurt Off on March 29, 2023 at the Teatr Muzyczny Capitol in Wrocław, where the production received the first prize of the festival and the audience prize.
