Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater...

17 scenarios for the theater by Martin Crimp | German by Falk Richter

A performance by the TheaterJugendClub Zittau

It could be that Anne conscientiously reads every letter that has been sent "to every household." She then makes herself a cup of tea and ticks the box that she would like to receive a set of miniature screwdrivers as a promotional gift. But Anne could also be a sports car. Or a terrorist, who actually comes from a sheltered home. A babble of voices creates 17 scenarios of who or what Anne is, somewhere in the world. By the way, she can also be a tour guide for singles trips, although it is important to her that this is not about finding a partner.

Martin Crimp tackles the possibilities of a character in a collage of dialogues. They are reflected in a variety of situations, in brutality and routine, in brand loyalty and eroticism. The result is a flickering and flickering of information, quick statements that can be replaced just as quickly. Anonymous drafts glow briefly, the attempt is over, the truthfulness uncertain. Did Martin Crimp write something like a preview of the timelines of the digital age with Attempts on her life in 1997? Or is it Anne who is called into question each time?

The TheaterJugendClub Zittau is taking on this complex text. Does it provide an answer to what Anne is all about? Possibly even several.

This event will take place in German language.
