This year we are celebrating the 410th birthday of the composer and organist Andreas Hammerschmidt (*1611, †1675). For36 years, Zittau was the composer's main center of life and work. It is truly a highlight in the musical life of this city on the three-country-corner to celebrate this musician publically.

On the occasion of the 6th Tribute to Hammerschmidt, we will be able to hear the singers of the Ensemble Cum Decore from Liberec and the Czech tenor Čeněk Svoboda. And naturally they will be performing compositions by Hammerschmidt.

In addition to this, a new volume of the composer's sheet music with various types of songs from 1658, published by the Verlag Kamprad, will be introduced as well as a visual biography about Hammerschmidt written by Dr. Sven Rössel, director of the local music school Kreismusikschule Dreiländereck in Zittau.
