A prestigious long-distance cross-country skiing race held annually in the Jizera Mountains. This event, whose history dates back to 1968, attracts both professional and amateur cross-country skiers from all over the world.

Thursday, February 6, 2025:

  • 13:30 – Volkswagen Bedřichovská 30 (30 km freestyle)
  • 13:50 – Jizerská 17 (17 km freestyle)
  • 18:00 – Ceremonial opening, historic skier race, memorial event honoring the climbers of the 1970 Peru expedition

 

Friday, February 7, 2025:

  • 9:00 – Mini Jizerská
  • 14:00 – T-Mobile Jizerská Company Relay (4× 3 km)
  • 18:30 – ORLEN Sprint (1.5 km double poling technique)
  • 20:00 – ČEZ Energy Fest in Jablonec nad Nisou

 

Saturday, February 8, 2025:

  • 8:30 – Jizerská 25 (25 km classic)
  • 14:00 – ČT Jizerská 10 (10 km classic)
  • 17:00 – Holy Mass at St. Anthony’s Church in Bedřichov
  • 18:00 – ČEZ Energy Fest in Liberec

 

Sunday, February 9, 2025:

  • 8:00 – Start of ELITE Women – ČEZ Jizerská 50 (50 km classic)
  • 8:30 – Main Race – ČEZ Jizerská 50 (50 km classic)

 

This four-day program offers races for all age groups and performance levels and is complemented by a diverse accompanying program, including concerts and other cultural events.

History of Jizerská 50

Jizerská 50 is one of the most renowned and prestigious events in cross-country skiing in the Czech Republic. The first edition took place in 1968 as a preparatory race for mountaineers preparing for demanding expeditions. The history of the race is also connected to the memory of 15 Czechoslovak mountaineers who lost their lives during a 1970 expedition in the Peruvian Andes on Mount Huascarán.

What began as a small, local race in the Jizera Mountains has evolved over time into an internationally recognized event, which has been part of the Worldloppet series – a collection of the world’s most important long-distance cross-country skiing races – since 1999.

Today, the Jizerská 50 attracts thousands of participants from around the world – professionals, amateurs, and families alike. It is a symbol of tradition, the spirit of sportsmanship, and a unique atmosphere that connects generations of cross-country skiers. The Jizerská 50 is not just a race; it is also a tribute to courage, perseverance, and history.
