A pot of gold actually plays the main role in this comedy story set in the imaginary South American state of Missitucky. Before leaving home, Josef Novák, a South Bohemian, steals it from Čochtan, a Třeboň waterman, in the naive belief that it will make him rich in America and thus ensure a carefree life for his only daughter, Káca. And since the pot has the magical power to grant three wishes, there is no shortage of surprising dramatic plots. The Wonder Pot is not a fairy tale in the traditional sense, however, because it is dominated by purely human problems.

The timeless musical by Jiří Voskovec and Jan Werich, The Wonderful Pot, is adapted by Josef Dvořák, the most famous Czech waterman.
