CHANGE OF PERFORMANCE: Dumb for Dinner

| F. X. Šalda Theatre, Liberec

Divadlo F.X.Šaldy...

Francis Veber The play A Fool for Dinner is one of the typical representatives of quality French comedy, its film version was awarded, among others, the César (the French equivalent of the Oscar). The text sparkles with witty dialogue, intelligent fresh humour and unexpected situations. It shows in an amusing way how tricky it is to judge other people superficially and to gloat over one's surroundings. Pierre and his friends regularly invite random individuals who have somewhat curious interests to dinner and like to talk about them a lot. And the company can then have fun at their expense. This time, that amusing "idiot" is to be Francois Pignon, who makes models of famous world buildings out of matches with a passion that is almost blind. Unsuspectingly, he arrives at Pierre's apartment, but finds him just as his back is locking up and he receives an unfortunate message from his wife - she is leaving him. This sets off a chain of completely unexpected situations that threaten Pierre's way of life to the very core. Because, as it happens in such comedies, the roles of the "jerks" start to get irritatingly switched during the play. The production is directed by the drama director Simon Dominik.

Please note that on 13.3.2024 due to illness the title will be changed. Instead of Gazda's Robe, we will perform BLBEC TO DINNER.
