Dignity – freedom – homeland… are abstract terms that everyone defines a little differently. To mark the 75th anniversary of the German Basic Law, the renowned ensemble AuditivVokal Dresden is embarking on a musical journey through the basic rights that are anchored in our constitution.
This “Wandelkonzert” will actually take you on a journey: from the monastery church to St. Mary’s Church and then to the Bürgersaal in Zittau, where concerts lasting around 30 minutes can be heard. In addition to world-famous compositions by Messiaen and Vivancos, there will be three world premieres – works by Peer Baierlein, Miranda Driessen and Richard Röbel – as well as new arrangements of local folk songs from the region: presented in the authentic Upper Lusatian dialect. The 12 vocal soloists will be supported by students from the Christian-Weise-Gymnasium under the direction of Felix Weickelt and the Upper Lusatian dialect poet Hans Klecker, who will enrich the “Wandelkonzert” with recitations.
