The Bautzen Wenzelsmarkt is the oldest Christmas market in Germany. It bears the name of the Czech King Wenceslas IV, who granted Budyšín the right to hold this market as early as 1384. The Advent markets in Buda are held in four places, namely Hauptmarkt, Reichenstrasse, Kornmarkt and in front of the museum.
