In April 2007, we began filming at Hofgut Himmelreich. We had heard about the start of an “experiment” that was intended to show that young people with mental disabilities can definitely find their place in the primary labor market. An intensive and individual training course was intended to prepare nine young people for a job in the hotel and catering industry.

For us, however, the film project did not end with the completion of the first course's vocational preparation after 1 1/2 years. We wanted to see whether and how the nine participants would find their way in working life.

The last filming took place in February 2018. Almost 100 hours of film material was used to create a film about this exciting “experiment”, which has now successfully established itself.
