Divadlo F.X.Šaldy...

Giuseppe Verdi The opera Il trovatore, about the troubadour Manrico, the beautiful Leonora and the gypsy Azucena, also called Il trovatore in English, belongs together with Rigoletto and La Traviata to the trio of operas that brought the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi into a strong, indelible awareness of the history of opera. After the world premiere of Il trovatore in 1853, audiences were literally captivated by Verdi's melodicism, orchestral colour, the vocally perfect parts and the elaborate, energetic and emotionally charged choral parts - making the opera one of the most sought-after. Even today, Verdi's Il trovatore is still one of the most frequently performed operas, both on Czech and international stages, and it continues to receive above-average attention from audiences and artistic figures for decades.
