Anyone who hasn't heard of SLAM POETRY needs to take the blinders off and take the earplugs out of their ears! It is a cultural phenomenon of our time! How else to explain that the verses have made their way into advertisements or onto demonstrations of hundreds of thousands? Slam moves the world and for the umpteenth time it will move the Ramp... you mustn't miss it! Slam poetry is increasingly occupying the media and cultural space, but what is it all about? It's hard to describe. Some call it the poetry of the moment, others call it rhyming stand-up. What everyone agrees on is that the basis of slam poetry is the text and the performer who delivers the text, and does so in the most authentic and generative way, because it is first and foremost a competition. It is a competition whose course and end is decided primarily by the audience, who form the jury. It is thus an unprecedentedly interactive artistic discipline.
