At the end of World War II, a lonely prospector in northern Finland finds a rich vein of gold. When he travels to the nearest town with the loot, he encounters a retreating detachment of Nazi soldiers led by the ruthless SS Obersturmführer, who wants to confiscate the gold for his troops. Unfortunately for the entire military unit, this is no ordinary digger.
