Our colleague will enrich you with information about the birth of the mountain settlements Jizerka and Velká Jizera. We will mainly focus on why and under what circumstances the settlements were founded, what their fate was until the 19th century and what role gold, sapphires and quartz played in their history. The series of our Thursday Jizera Mountain Evenings, which are part of the accompanying programme to the exhibition "The Book of the Jizera Mountains... and then only forests", concludes with a lecture by Ivan Rouse entitled "The origins of Jizera and Velká Jizera and their wealth".
