Pope Francis's efforts for a synodal renewal of the Church are strikingly reminiscent of Comenius's proposal for a "general consultation on the reformation of human affairs". Thomas Halík is a well-known personality, he will not be with us for the first time, so I do not need to introduce him. I am glad that we managed to get him back for Železný Brod despite his incredible workload. I believe it will be an enriching evening for the listeners. The 27th renewed St. John's Day pilgrimage at the little church Na Poušti will take place onSaturday, May 20. The pilgrimage will begin at 11am with a solemn service of worship, officiated by P. Halik. The world premiere of Bohuslav Liedl's newly composed mass, "Svatoyanská", will be performed. The church's Philharmonic Choir, under the direction of the author, will sing. After the service, refreshments will be provided for pilgrims and handicrafts and other miscellaneous items will be offered. The Scouts traditionally contribute to the organization of the pilgrimage and will prepare various games and attractions for children and young people. At 1.30 p.m. "Matičky" from Semily will play a traditional puppet fairy tale for the youngest children and adults and at 2.30 p.m. the 53rd benefit concert - Lédl Jazz Quintet will be performed. An integral part of the pilgrimage will be an exhibition of drawings and graphics by Jana Kasalová st. After the great success of last year, we again invite you to participate in the new activity "Parade of pilgrimage". We invite all pilgrims to actively participate in the conceptual work. Along the path from the main road to the little church, arrange and hang on trees or bushes those nice pieces from your wardrobe that you haven't worn in a while but are sorry to throw away. Passers-by can choose and take anything away in any number for their own enjoyment and use - on the way up. Anything that doesn't find a new happy owner, the original homeowners will eventually take on their way down. For elderly and hardly mobile citizens, we will arrange a collection at 10.15am from the pharmacy at Angel's. You are cordially invited to both events.
