NORTH TO SOUTH THROUGH NEW ZEALAND

| Na Rampě Club

Te Araroa (TA) in New Zealand is a challenging and varied long-distance trek that measures approximately 3000 kilometres horizontally and 100 kilometres vertically. The route stretches from the northern tip of the North Island to the south of the South Island, passing through mountains, forests, rivers, grasslands, beaches and towns. Some parts can be covered by boat or bicycle, while the leisurely road miles can be speeded up by hitchhiking. Linda Rousová completed this trek last season as one of the last two "SOBO thru-hikers". She reached the south of Zealand at the end of May 2023, when snow had already fallen. What kept her on the road? When did she start and how long did she trek? What was her biggest fear and joy along the way? What was deeper, the mud, the rivers or the snow? These questions and many more will be answered if you come :-)

Linda Rousová tells us about the three thousand kilometres across New Zealand along the "Te Araroa" route - on foot, by hitchhiking, by water and by bike.
