Nisa Film Festival 2025

| Visit Liberec

The Nisa Film Festival was created in the south-eastern corner of the Federal Republic of Germany, in the Czech-German-Polish tri-country, in cooperation with film clubs from Großhennersdorf in Saxony, Liberec in the Czech Republic and Jelenia Góra in Poland, to offer an annual look at the film production of neighbouring countries.
What is special and unique about the Nisa Film Festival is its cross-genre, trinational character, with cross-border film screenings and other events at twenty venues in the Tri-Country. The rural space in particular offers organisers, visitors and filmmakers unusual opportunities for encounter and perception. In addition to the films, the festival also includes a rich supporting programme with exhibitions, readings, concerts and parties, organised in cooperation with partners in all three countries. One of the essential aspects of the festival is to connect and support the cinemas in the region and thus provide an attractive cultural offer to the local audience.
The festival is named after the border river Nisa, which connects all three countries. The fish from the Nisa (statuettes for the winners of the competition categories), which flow freely along the river regardless of the border, are a symbolic model for the festival.

The next edition of the Nisa Film Festival will take place from 20 to 25 May. For the 22nd edition, 900 film entries have been submitted.
