Bedřich Smetana On the occasion of Bedřich Smetana's 200th birthday, we will perform the masterpiece My Country. The cycle of six symphonic poems is probably Smetana's best-known work and has rightly gained popularity all over the world. It ranks among the most important symbols of Czech music. The culminating work was written during the aftershocks of the Czech national revival. The composer imprinted Czech history, legends and the beauty of nature and life into the individual movements Vyšehrad, Vltava, Šárka, From the Czech Meadows and Groves, Tábor and Blaník.
