Daniel Dorsch, also known as mr.pII, is a Berlin-based sound artist, composer and creative inventor whose long musical journey has taken him from popular music to contemporary theater and dance. He is currently working with the experimental music/theater group around David Marton on a performance of Bellini's opera La Sonnambula at the Munich Kammerspiele and a new production of Don Giovanni at the Opera de Lyon. Under his stage name mr.pII, he released the album Villa Pii in December 2023.

Dorsch's musical roots lie in post-Wall Berlin, when music clubs flourished all over the city and people jammed with drum machines, synthesizers and turntables until the early hours of the morning. This creative energy took him on trips around the world - from Japan to Jordan to Switzerland. He created ambient sounds for the Lyon Opera and performed with bands such as Madonna HipHop Massaker, Recorder, Herr Blum and ALP.

His new show, in which he performs as mr.pII, combines analogue machines and early beats with contemporary sounds. He incorporates samples of sounds he has captured on his travels into his music: the rushing of the Nile, the desert wind of the Sahara, bells of an old church in Tunisia and trains passing by. He mixes these sounds with deep basslines and catchy beats, creating a unique musical universe - always a dream, always a dance.
