We invite you to the concert that will take place in the Eurocentre in Jablonec on Friday, 31 January at 8 pm. The acoustic project of Monika Načeva and Michal Pavlíček is based on a cross-section of Načeva's work, mainly from the albums Opportunities Are Here..., Heaven Is Red and Mami. In this conception, the strong lyrics of Jáchym Topol, which Pavlíček has sensitively set to music, the open emotional expression of Načeva and Pavlíček's unmistakable perfect guitar with arrangements enriched by the sound of strings of the Pavel Bořkovec Quartet are the most prominent.
Michal Pavlicek is a Czech guitar magician, composer of quirky puns and author of introverted rock opuses as well as melodically strong ballads, composer of symphonic and stage music with a completely original handwriting, sought-after producer and mentor of young musicians. He is a widely respected individual, which is documented by numerous victories and awards in professional polls.
Monika Načeva is one of the most promising singers of the Czech and alternative scene at the turn of the century. She has undergone several transformations from classic rock to electronic dance music to experiments outside the boundaries of styles. Many personalities of the Czech scene have collaborated on her albums, such as Jan P. Muchow, Michal Pavlicek, and Jáchym Topol as a lyricist.
Pavel Bořkovec Quartet was founded at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. The string quartet consists of two violinists, Alexej Aslamas Jr. and Ondřej Hás, cellist Štěpán Drtina and violist Matěj Kroupa, Pavel Bořkovec's great-grandson. The quartet focuses mainly on Czech music of the 20th and 21st centuries. Its main goal is not only to promote the unjustly neglected composers of Bořkovec's generation, but also to serve the music of contemporary composers.
