International Zebra Day is celebrated worldwide on 31 January. The Liberec Zoo breeds two subspecies of zebra - the Chapman's zebra, which will greet you just outside the entrance, and the thunderless zebra. They share an enclosure with Rothschild's giraffes. The zoo is also actively involved in efforts to save the maneless zebras in the wild, where they are found in only two remaining locations in Uganda, namely Kidepo National Park and Pian Upe Nature Reserve.
On Saturday, February 3, Zoo Liberec joins the celebration of International Zebra Day and has prepared themed habitats and art workshops for visitors from 10.00 to 14.00.
