Under the title 3 x KOPŘIVA, the Museum of Glass and Costume Jewellery has prepared a conceptual exhibition of the husband and wife team of Karolína Kopřiva (*1970), Pavel Kopřiva (*1968) and their son Pavel Kopřiva jun. (*1995), who, in addition to their joint work created for the occasion, present a selection of their glass and multimedia work. The Kopřivas work with the material in different ways, they do not inspire each other, yet they are connected. "In the glass space of the museum extension we are preparing special exhibition projects presenting various forms of contemporary glass art. Visitors will see the creative potential of two generations of one family for the first time," said Milada Valečková, the museum's director. Pavel Kopřiva, a graduate of the Prague UMPRUM, is a successful conceptual artist, teacher and manager. He is the head of the Interactive Media Studio at the UJEP in Ústí nad Labem and the head of the Glass School in Kamenický Šenov. "He combines glass with new media, is interested in nanofibres and the computer-controlled world, military technology and ufology, and is fascinated by mirrors," says Petr Nový, the exhibition curator, about his work. Karolína Kopřivová, on the other hand, draws inspiration from nature and biology. Cellular structures, microorganisms, underwater fauna and flora, fungi, plants, all provide the impetus for her creativity. She is a graduate of UMPRUM and the current head of the painted glass design department at the Kamenický Šenov Secondary School of Industry. According to Pavel Kopřiv jun., who attended the UJEP in Ústí nad Labem and the Czech Technical University in Prague, the position of authorial design, the creation of imaginatively designed limited collections of objects, is the closest to Nový. They are decorations that may or may not have a clear practical purpose." The 3 x KOPŘIVA exhibition will open with a Meet & Greet format on Thursday, November 7 at 5 pm and can be visited at the Jablonec Museum of Glass and Costume Jewellery until April 27, 2025. Museum partners: Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, Liberec Region, Statutory Town of Jablonec nad Nisou, Preciosa Foundation, Friends of the Museum, Crystal Valley, Czech Radio Liberec, rtm+.

Opening, friendly meeting and guided tour with the authors of the exhibition 3 x KOPŘIVA (Pavel-Karolína-Pavel jun.).
