As part of the celebration of the Year of Czech Music and also on the occasion of Bedřich Smetana's 200th birthday, we will perform his cantata Czech Song, which will feature not only the orchestra but also the opera chorus. Leoš Janáček's work will be represented in our programme by his composition Jealousy, which was originally intended as a prelude to the opera Jenůfa. From the pen of Antonín Dvořák you will hear his Symphony No. 6 and also the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in A minor in a brilliant performance by the young and talented violinist, Liberec native Daniel Matejč. You can look forward to a purely Czech repertoire in the musical setting of conductor Jaroslav Kyzlinek.
