Letňák bar Small (home) stage Admission voluntary The improvised music project B4 was founded in 1998. The original duo grew to a foursome within a year and performed with the same line-up until 2008, with occasional guest appearances by other musicians. B4's musical explorations ranged from ambient, urban ethno, dub, post rock to trip hop and jazz. After 2008, B4 are a kind of power trio, playing a wild mix of krautrock, noise and psychedelia, all richly wrapped in spacey effects and electronic grunts. Polyrhythms and dissonance are also a favourite spice here. The project's music can range from meditative minimalism to noisy blast beats. B4 plays unusual music by Czech standards, which is always shaped by its listeners themselves. The band's line-up includes drums, analogue keyboards, bass guitar and a mixing desk.B4 also performs with a guest bassist and then a crunching and hissing noise guitar appears in the setup. Since 2009, the band members have chosen to use vintage instruments and analogue electronics exclusively. B4 cites Czech artists Petr and Pavel Orm, Steve Reiche, the Medeski project, Martin and Wood, Einstuerzende Neubauten, and especially two tracks from the Money Mark project, "Information contraband" and "Push the button", as inspirations.
