Kultura Jablonec p.o.

Even aging can be done with humor and grace! A quartet of former singing stars will convince you of this in a British comedy that awaits you at the Eurocentre Jablonec on Monday 9 December at 7 pm. The cast includes Rudolf Hrušínský, Veronika Freimanová, Jana Švandová and Zdeněk Žák.
Pension for retired opera artists is the last stop for former singing virtuosos, Cissy, Wilf and Reggie. The arrival of their former colleague, the famous soprano Jean, who was Reggie's wife for a short time, stirs up the otherwise calm surface of their lives. The plan to sing the quartet from Rigoletto at the traditional concert to mark the anniversary of Verdi's birth is threatened. Will the former friends move past their past disagreements and resentments? Will they be able to reconcile their different natures for the sake of music? Can time stop for a moment and resurrect a past glory?
In a delicate play with a large dose of typically British humour, it speaks movingly, but without cheap sentimentality, about people who may be past their productive years, but who have not lost the desire to live, the will to do something and, above all, to dream.
