Guided tour of the Karel Hubáček House

| Dům Karla Hubáčka

In its time, the house caused a small revolution, as individual housing was considered a "bourgeois relic". The brief was clear - to create a cheap but quality house for the price of an apartment. Several alternatives were developed combining different massing, height and layout solutions, including the use of semi-detached houses. The project was to showcase a cheap, affordable and quality house for the broadest strata of the population and to prove that it can be created with a minimum of resources. However, it remained just this prototype...
The address of the house: Alšova 454/10, 460 15 Liberec - Starý Harcov Entrance fee: 100 CZK, children under 18 years of age can enter for free. Tickets can be purchased in person at the ticket office of the North Bohemian Museum (Masarykova 11, Liberec) or via the GoOut portal.

As part of the accompanying programme to the Karel Hubáček Known Unknown exhibition, we are organising a series of guided tours of the Karel Hubáček House - a unique prefabricated building in Liberec's Lidové sady, which the renowned architect not only designed, but also lived in for most of his life.
