The Liberec Relay Race is taking place in the Liberec Home Credit Arena (Athletics Sports and Football Stadium). Each participating team has 10 members, and at least three legs must be run by a girl.

This is the largest non-profit race of 10-member teams of secondary school students who master the classical marathon route in all county seats of the Czech Republic. Post-secondary schools can participate at no charge. In 2019, 292 teams (i.e. 2,920 students) from throughout the Czech Republic participated in the project.

Each year this project is under the supportive patronage of the European Commission representation in the Czech Republic; the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport; the Czech Ministry of Health; the Czech Athletic Association; and governors and mayors of the various areas.

The event will be accompanied by a media campaign aimed at fighting the increasing obesity amongst young people, promoting a healthy lifestyle and a positive attitude towards sports among young people as well as promoting team spirit and preventing the consumption of addictive substances.
