Ines Beyer metamorph

The works of the artist Ines Beyer have a very special depth. This is not only due to the always present three-dimensionality of textile works, but also due to the change in what the viewer is able to see. Behind every object lies information that can appear completely differently in another work of hers. This change of forms despite the same content is what is so captivating about the works. The viewer learns to see in a new or different way. This changes the perception and evaluation of what is seen and experienced. It is the metamorphic processes that she also discovers in everyday life and makes visible with the help of textile techniques. In the German Damask and Terry Cloth Museum, Ines Beyer's works expand the textile view of pictorial fabrics in a completely new way. In the context of damask weaving - a complex process that requires several steps of transformation - the dimensions of her works become particularly clear. These topics can be discussed in more detail in an artist talk.
