In order to survive, we have to stay in motion and adapt to our surroundings. Robert Soko, who fled from the war in Yugoslavia as a teenager, is convinced of this. Soko landed in Berlin, became a taxi driver and re-invented himself as DJ. With his music he created a completely new style, a mix of various cultures: western techno meets electrifying Balkan rhythms. The young DJ and his famous Balkan Beats parties brought movement into the Berlin club scene. The buzz quickly spread to other cities and soon fans were dancing to Balkan Beats rhythms all over Europe.
