Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater...

There aren't very many names in the Schlager genre that have been so well known for over 60 years. Frank Schöbel is the most successful singer in the GDR. He received the “Amiga Platin Award” for the artist who sold the most records on Amiga and therefore in the GDR.

Frank managed to compensate for his popularity over decades. It connects generations and is an integral part of Germany's musical landscape.

Frank is a singer, composer, lyricist, producer, presenter, actor, author and more. Initially a household name almost exclusively in eastern Germany, numerous new fans were added after the fall of the Wall.

His absolute greatest success was his LP “Weihnachten in Familie” (1985), which he produced together with Aurora Lacasa and their two daughters Odette and Dominique. With over 2 million copies sold, it is the best-selling record in the GDR.

Of course, even in its 61st year on the stage, “Fränky-Boy” doesn’t miss the opportunity to bring the songs from this LP live on stage in the run-up to Christmas.

His loyal audience can also look forward to his big hits in part of the concert.
