A Tribute to Leonard Cohen

Field Commander C. play "Leonard Cohen's Early Works - the Roots of Hallelujah"

Field Commander C. is a tribute to the great Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen and one of the most impressive Cohen live shows that Germany has to offer.

In addition to the large formation, which is extensively devoted to the legendary 1979 tour and provides goosebumps and minutes-long standing ovations in renowned concert halls across the country, Rolf Ableiter's Field Commander C. is now searching for clues with a more intimate line-up. "Leonard Cohen's Early Works - the Roots of Hallelujah" is the title of the new program.

Anyone who is interested in Leonard Cohen cannot avoid the song "Hallelujah". But if you want to understand how this incredible song came about, you have to look at Cohen's early work. Songs like "Suzanne", "Bird on the Wire", "So Long Marianne", "Famous Blue Raincoat" etc. are, alongside Hallelujah, some of Cohen's most famous works and were all written during the creative period of the first four albums. Guests can expect an evening full of melancholy, poetry, virtuoso joy of playing and stories about his magnificent early work: Leonard Cohen's Early Works and the Roots of Hallelujah - emotionally interpreted with guitar, violin, cello, organ and accordion.
