But not everything we were taught in school and what Alois Jirásek wrote has to be true! The Maiden War is the most successful and most performed of all plays in the Czech Republic. Its attractiveness lies primarily in the lightness of the genre and its exaggeration. The author himself says of this comedy: "I wrote Dívčí válka (Girl's War) - so to speak - "tailor-made" for the Czech nation; it is primarily about its style of humour and the areas it touches upon (eroticism, politics). Moreover, it is a relaxing genre, within which we bring a feast of the most beautiful women our impoverished country has at its disposal. I always say with a bit of exaggeration - this is how God compensates his dear Czechs for their failures in the market economy."

The legendary comedy by František Ringo Čech performed by the Cultural and Theatre Association Jizeran Rakousy.
