The Upper Lusatian trombonist Antonia Hausmann and the vibraphonist Volker Heuken from Leipzig present their own compositions and new interpretations of well-known songs with passionate devotion to their instruments and a great deal of joy in experimentation.
Antonia and Volker's paths have crossed again and again for years at various points in their artistic careers. The two award-winning protagonists of the creative Leipzig scene meet in the most diverse line-ups and formations. But never as intimately as in this project. Their unusual duo is intimate and furious at the same time, gentle and energetic, it tells stories and opens up spaces. The two combine their musical voices to create an astonishingly colourful language. All the nooks and crannies of their small instrumentation are illuminated and the instruments modified in every conceivable way to tease out the widest possible spectrum of timbres and ideas from vibraphone and trombone. Light-hearted and spontaneous, they move between emotional timbres, clarity and complexity - serene to cloudy. In the end, however, the audience hears one thing: deep trust and a long-standing friendship.
