Under this motto, the next event in the series "Think about the Lenten veil - contemplation with words, pictures and music" will take place on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The event is being organized by the Evangelical Methodist Church in Zittau.
The focus is on picture IV/5 "Jacob did not let go of the angel"
What happens to our beliefs in life when we get into a crisis and are confronted with a seemingly overwhelming enemy? Jacob wrestles with a strange figure on the Jabbok River. Is it an angel? Does Jacob end up wrestling with God himself? Crises call into question our beliefs in life and especially our faith in God. The reflections focus on the story "behind" the picture on the one hand, and on today's existential experiences that we cannot avoid on the other.
Participants will be: Pastor Olf Tunger for the devotion and for the musical accompaniment Beate Leistner (flute)
