Frog Day

| Zoological Garden in Liberec

International Frog Day has been observed since 2009 to draw attention to the critical situation of these amphibians in nature. Many species of frogs are threatened with extinction due to disease and loss of habitat due to human activities. The Liberec zoo keeps several critically endangered species. Since last spring, visitors have been able to admire some rare species in a new exhibition in the ZooExpo pavilion. For example, the unique Valeri's dewdrop, several species of colourful leaf-worms and poisonous prairie voles can be seen here.

International Frog Day will fall on Thursday 20 March this year. It will be commemorated in the Liberec Zoo on Saturday, 22 March. Visitors can enjoy handicraft workshops, which will take place in the ZooExpo building from 10.00 to 15.00. At 1 p.m. there will be a guided meeting with a zoologist at the tropical frog exhibit.
