Listening to Daniel Herskedal for the first time and what he gets out of his instrument is an experience many music lovers won't soon forget. And every time you hear it again, you're still surprised at how much the Norwegian can still surprise, captivate, and conquer you with just a tuba and bass trumpet. But what happens when the award-winning composer shares the stage and studio with his colleagues Eyolf Dale (piano) and Helge Andreas Norbakken (percussion)? Suddenly, a classical education and love of orchestral music (Dale) collide with a wealth of experience in Nordic folk and pop music (Norbakken). The common thread between the three is jazz, and improvisation together has taken them far as a trio: in 2025, they will celebrate their tenth anniversary with their fifth studio album (all on one of the world's hottest jazz labels, Edition Records).
